SILVER CITY >> Location, location, location. For Cissy McAndrew, apart-time Realtor who serves as executive director of the Southwest New Mexico Green Chamber of Commerce, the decision to move her office was significant.

“We’d been running the Murray Ryan Visitor Center for three years, serving thousands of visitors while sharing the space with the Arts and Culture District as they were promoting local tourism. Now they wanted to take over all the tourism functions and we wanted to concentrate on business development. So it was a good time to make the move,” McAndrew said.

The new Green Chamber office is at 406 N. Bullard, in the old El Sol Theater Building. “We like the fact that it helps fill some of the historic downtown space,” McAndrew said. “And we’ll be involved in trying to activate and complete some of the unfinished projects in that area.”
