Toolkit to be Distributed to Business Owners, Local Governments, Tourism Groups
Series of community presentations on how to market the monument for local businesses
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico Green Chamber of Commerce (NMGCC) and the Partnership for Responsible Business (PRB) today released a new marketing toolkit to help local businesses and governments get the most out of the tourism opportunities created by the newly designated Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument just outside of Las Cruces.
This toolkit includes a visitors’ brochure highlighting places visitors can go to enjoy some of the monument’s historic and geographic assets as well as other materials such as promotional posters and stickers.
As a part of this effort, the Green Chamber will work with groups such as the Las Cruces Convention and Visitors Bureau and city and county economic development and tourism entities to distribute the promotional materials to a wide audience.
“Businesses in Las Cruces are aware of the many benefits of the new National Monument. This toolkit is a great resource for local businesses and gives them another avenue in which to highlight the visitor opportunities in Southern New Mexico,” said Adrian Carver, President of the NMGCC Board of Directors.
Carrie Hamblen, Executive Director of the Las Cruces Chapter of the New Mexico Green Chamber of Commerce, says that the promotional materials will outline all the national monument has to offer and provide more information for businesses to distribute to their customers.
“With these materials, owners of businesses in the outdoor recreation, hotel, and hospitality industries will have more information to give to customers interested in spending time at the monument, as well as providing retail businesses with the tools to connect the monument to their brand,” Hamblen said. “In addition, the media toolkit will provide resources for news outlets that will make covering the monument easier and more efficient. Ultimately, these promotional materials will help all of us promote the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks Monument.”
