Statewide Newsletter – June 2014

Dear Green Chamber Members and Friends,

May was a busy month for our Green Chamber chapters around the state! After over two years of promoting the benefits of National Monuments to the business community, the Las Cruces Green Chamber is now the host of the country’s newest National Monument. On May 21, President Obama designated over 500,000 acres of Southern New Mexico as the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument. Las Cruces Green Chamber Executive Director, Carrie Hamblen was invited to Washington DC and was the only New Mexican invited to speak at the signing. Our congratulations go out to Carrie, the Las Cruces Chapter, and all the businesses in Southern New Mexico who will benefit from the economic drive of the National Monument.

This June, all of our Green Chamber chapters will be hosting Green Drinks events. Green Drinks is a great opportunity to network with other like-minded businesses and learn from a wide variety of speakers about the progress of Green business in New Mexico. If you have not attended a Green Drinks event in your community, we hope to see you at one this summer!

Also this month, EXHIB-IT!’s B2B Expo will be on June 12that the Expo NM Fairgrounds. All proceeds from the Expo’s Silent Auction will benefit Dream Big. Find out more about this event and how you can be involved below.

As the summer heats up, we hope to continue to see you at our events and encourage you to continue to support local businesses.

Best Wishes,

Celerah Hewes-Rutledge, Chief Operating Officer
